Sky Rent-A-Car Okinawa — 6 Branches, One Simple Booking in English
![]()
Driving is the fastest way to see Okinawa. Public transport reaches Naha City well enough, but the beaches, viewpoints, and small towns that make the trip worth it all sit an hour or more from the nearest rail line. That is why nearly every international traveler ends up renting a car here.
Among the rental brands operating on the islands, Sky Rent-A-Car (スカイレンタカー) is one we at GO!GO!TOUR partner with because it has 6 branches spread across the three most-used entry points — Naha, Ishigaki, and Miyakojima. This guide walks through each branch and what actually matters when you pick one.

Sky Rent-A-Car has three real strengths for foreign visitors: a dense branch network across Okinawa’s main travel corridors, a prepaid booking flow through GO!GO!TOUR that skips the counter paperwork, and a brand-new Onna-son branch right by the northern resort belt.
Why We Recommend Sky Rent-A-Car
■ Dense coverage across every major entry point
Six branches — Naha Airport, Naha City (Kume district), Omoromachi (T Galleria DFS), Onna-son, Ishigaki Island, and Miyakojima — is unusual for one brand. Whether you fly into Naha and drive straight up the west coast, land at New Ishigaki Airport to island-hop through Yaeyama, or arrive at Miyako Airport, there is a Sky counter within a short shuttle or train ride.
■ English-speaking support at booking, not just on-site
Sky’s on-site staff at Naha Airport are Japanese-speaking, and English fluency at the counter is inconsistent. When you book through GO!GO!TOUR, the entire booking, changes, and pre-arrival questions are handled in English. Your paperwork is done before you land.
■ Options you can lock in before you arrive
Through our booking page you can add the collision damage waiver (CDW-equivalent, “jisonjisha” insurance) as an option and enroll in the under-21 NOC cover if a younger driver is on the license. A child seat is included free with any booking. Sort this out online so you are not stuck making decisions in a second language at 3 p.m. after a long flight.
Naha Airport Branch — 9-Minute Free Shuttle, the Default Choice

Address: Kushi 1-23-8, Naha City, Okinawa. From Naha Airport’s arrival lobby, cross the road at the pedestrian signal and head to the rental car shuttle bay. Look for bay 11-B — a Sky staff member waits there with a branded sign. The ride to the branch takes about 9 minutes.
Hours are 08:00–19:00, seven days a week. The shuttle runs alongside branch hours. When you book through GO!GO!TOUR, everything is prepaid online, so no card fumbling at the counter. If you extend your rental or add options on-site later, card payments are accepted then.
Recurring feedback we hear from customers picking up here: the cars are clean, the pickup is quick, and the shuttle instructions are accurate. It is the safest default pick for a first Okinawa trip.
Naha City Branch — Walk to Your Car from Kokusai Street
Address: Kume 2-6-16, Naha City. This is a downtown counter — 5-minute walk from Yui Rail “Kencho-mae” Station, and just 2 minutes from Kumoji intersection. If you are staying at a hotel around Kokusai Street (Kokusai-dori), Kume, or Kumoji, you can walk to the branch instead of taking the airport shuttle.
Hours: 08:00–19:00, open daily. GO!GO!TOUR booking is prepaid.
Two situations where this branch beats the airport counter:
- You want to spend day one on foot in downtown Naha and pick up the car the next morning. No parking hassle for your first hotel night, and the walking pace suits a jet-lagged arrival.
- You plan to finish your trip with shopping and dinner on Kokusai Street. Drop the car at the city branch and walk straight into the final evening — no return shuttle back to the airport after you have already dropped your rental.
T Galleria Okinawa (DFS Branch) — Best for Omoromachi Hotels

This branch sits inside T Galleria Okinawa, second floor — the DFS duty-free complex in Omoromachi, Naha’s newer commercial district. Address: Omoromachi 4-1, Naha City. Hours: 09:00–19:00.
The access story is the reason to consider it: the branch is connected to Yui Rail “Omoromachi” Station by a 2F skywalk. From Naha Airport it is about 15 minutes by Yui Rail — no airport shuttle needed. If you are staying at Hyatt Regency Naha, Daiwa Roynet, Laguna Garden, or Rihga Royal Gran, you are within a stop or a short walk of this counter.
Two things to watch:
- No airport shuttle service — you need to take Yui Rail yourself
- Returns must be completed by 19:00 sharp — after that, T Galleria’s shutters close. Plan an evening return with plenty of buffer.
If you are booked into an Omoromachi hotel, check the branch options on our GO!GO!TOUR rental car page.
Onna-son Branch — Hotel Delivery for Resort Stays

Opened on July 18, 2025, this is the newest branch and the one that changes the game for resort travelers. Address: Nakamahamabaru 142, Onna-son, Kunigami-gun — right next to Halekulani Okinawa in the Nakama area.
Until this branch opened, resort guests in Onna-son had to travel back to Naha (airport or city) to pick up a rental car. Now you can collect the car in northern Okinawa and go straight to your hotel, skipping the Naha-and-back detour.
Here is a service condition that applies only to GO!GO!TOUR bookings:
Book through us and you can add a paid hotel delivery option for the Onna-son branch — the car is brought to your resort. On return, if your hotel is one of our partner properties, you can leave the car at the front desk with the keys and skip the drop-off drive.
This is not a general Sky Rent-A-Car service — it applies to GO!GO!TOUR reservations only. Ask us for the current list of eligible hotels and the exact delivery fee when you inquire.
Great for travelers who only need the car for one or two resort days, or who arrive with heavy luggage that would make a shuttle trip inconvenient.
Ishigaki Branch — 5 Minutes from New Ishigaki Airport

The gateway to the Yaeyama Islands. Sky’s Ishigaki branch sits at Shiraho 2080-16, Ishigaki City, a 5-minute free shuttle from New Ishigaki Airport. Cross the road from the arrival lobby, head to the rental car shuttle area, and look for the Sky Rent-A-Car sign.
Hours: 08:00–19:00, GO!GO!TOUR booking is prepaid.
For an itinerary that hops between Ishigaki, Taketomi, and Iriomote, having the counter 5 minutes from the airport shaves real time off transfer logistics — you can start driving within an hour of landing.
Miyakojima Branch — Inside Torifito Resort, 2 Minutes from Miyako Airport
For travelers heading to Miyako’s main island. Address: Shimozato 2422-1, Hirara, Miyakojima — inside the Hotel Torifito Miyakojima Resort ground floor. The branch relocated into this resort in March 2021.
The free shuttle from Miyako Airport takes about 2 minutes. Because the counter is inside a hotel, guests staying at Torifito Miyakojima Resort get free parking — a nice pairing if you are already looking at accommodation options.
Hours: 08:00–19:00, GO!GO!TOUR booking is prepaid.
For Miyako travel planning, check availability on our rental car search.

What to Know Before Booking with GO!GO!TOUR

Pricing varies significantly by branch, vehicle class, season, and how far ahead you book. Check current rates on our rental car page — real-time inventory shows what is actually available for your dates.
Payment is prepaid at booking, so credit card acceptance on-site is not something you need to worry about. On-site card payments only come up if you add options or extend on the day.
Insurance — you can select the collision damage waiver as an option, and add the under-21 NOC cover for younger drivers. Full coverage details are on each plan’s page.
Included free: one child seat per booking. Paid extras include stroller rental, ETC card rental, and non-smoking / smoking vehicle preferences.
Fuel policy: full tank out, full tank back. Refuel near the branch before returning.
Cancellation rules depend on the timing and specific plan, so review the cancellation policy shown on the plan page before you confirm.
Documents to Bring on Pickup Day
Three things — leave any of them at home and you cannot drive:
- International Driving Permit (IDP) — must be issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention (this is the older format; the 1968 Vienna Convention IDP is NOT valid in Japan). Check your country’s issuing authority. Validity is 1 year from issue.
- Your original home-country driver’s license — must be carried alongside the IDP
- Passport
Two extra notes worth knowing:
– Sky books by vehicle class, not specific model. You reserve “Compact” and get a car in that class — the exact model is confirmed at the counter. If you must have a specific model, tell us before booking and we will check whether Sky can commit.
– Navigation systems in the cars can be 2–3 years old, so new cafes or spots may not show up. Google Maps on your phone is worth having open in parallel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do the Sky Rent-A-Car staff speak English?
A. On-site English fluency varies by branch and by shift, so it should not be assumed. When you book through GO!GO!TOUR, however, the entire reservation, changes, and any pre-arrival questions are handled in English. The in-car navigation systems support English display.
Q. Where do I catch the shuttle at Naha Airport?
A. Cross the road from the arrival lobby to the rental car shuttle area. Look for bay 11-B — a Sky Rent-A-Car staff member waits there with a branded sign. The shuttle runs during branch hours (08:00–19:00).
Q. Can I have the car delivered to my Onna-son hotel?
A. Yes — this is a GO!GO!TOUR-only option for the Onna-son branch, available for an additional fee. We can send you the list of eligible hotels and the exact delivery fee when you inquire.
Q. What is the latest I can return the car at T Galleria?
A. 19:00 sharp. After that, the T Galleria building closes and the branch is inaccessible. Build in a buffer for an evening return.
Q. What insurance is included and what is optional?
A. When booking with GO!GO!TOUR, you can add the collision damage waiver (“jisonjisha”) and, for younger drivers, the under-21 NOC cover. Specific coverage caps and pricing appear on each plan’s page.
Q. Is Sky Rent-A-Car a good choice for a Miyakojima trip?
A. For Miyako’s main island, yes — the branch is a 2-minute shuttle from Miyako Airport and sits inside the Torifito Miyakojima Resort. If you happen to stay at Torifito, parking is free.
Q. How does the cancellation policy work?
A. Cancellation charges depend on how far in advance you cancel and on the specific plan you booked. The cancellation policy is displayed on each plan’s page — please review it before confirming.
Wrap-Up — Pick the Branch That Matches Your Base, Not Just Your Airport
Sky Rent-A-Car works well for Okinawa because the branches are placed exactly where international travelers actually need them — every major airport, downtown Naha, Omoromachi, and now the resort belt.
If you land at Naha, the airport branch is the fastest path to a car. Staying downtown around Kokusai Street? The Naha City branch lets you walk to your pickup. Omoromachi hotel? T Galleria is a Yui Rail stop away. Resort in the north? The Onna-son branch with hotel delivery (a GO!GO!TOUR-only option) is the smoothest arrival. Flying into Ishigaki or Miyako? Both have branches within 2–5 minutes of the airport.
At GO!GO!TOUR, we handle the booking, the paperwork, and the pre-arrival questions in English — including the Onna-son hotel delivery and partner-hotel return options that only apply to our reservations. If it is your first time renting in Okinawa, start with a branch question and we will walk you through the rest.
